Dear Valued Customers,

At a time in which the news is dominated by coronavirus (COVID-19), Golden West Packaging Group wanted to personally reach out and let you know that we are vigilantly implementing enhanced protocols to ensure the safety of our employees, customers and suppliers as well as additional measures to help mitigate any business disruption.

Safety is an absolute, and the #1 priority is to keep our employees and customers safe. As a global organization we are implementing preventative measures recommended by the (USCDC) U.S. Center of Disease Control and WHO (World Health Organization) and other local regulatory bodies (as appropriate for our region). We are communicating in real-time with our employees and customers as this situation evolves.

We have set up a dedicated crisis committee to ensure that safety in this situation remains our top priority. A few of the steps taken are listed below:

  • Avoid meeting people face-to-face. Employees are encouraged to use the telephone, online conferencing, e-mail, or instant messaging to conduct business as much as possible, even when participants are in the same building.
  • If a face-to-face meeting is unavoidable, minimize the meeting time, choose a large meeting room and adhere to the 6 ft rule; avoid person-to-person contact such as shaking hands.
  • Avoid any unnecessary travel and cancel or postpone nonessential meetings, gatherings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Avoid scheduling in-person appointments with outside vendors, customers, etc. Make every effort to handle this via the phone, online conferencing, etc.
  • Do not congregate in work rooms, pantries, copier rooms, or other areas where people socialize.
  • Allow employees to eat lunch at their desk (office employees), or they can choose to eat in their car, goal is to be away from others (avoid lunchrooms and crowded restaurants).
  • Encourage members and others to request information and orders via phone and e-mail in order to minimize person-to-person contact. Have the orders, materials and information ready for fast pick-up or delivery.

Golden West Packaging Group is currently conducting all manufacturing activities in accordance with the guidance from the relevant authorities. We have asked all top management to follow the CDC recommendations to prevent any further spread of this virus. Should we experience any disruption in our business it should be noted we have one of the most robust Contingency Plans in our industry and are fully capable of acting upon it should it become necessary. I have attached a copy for your review and files.

Your safety is our highest priority and we truly appreciate the trust that you place in our team and our organization.

Sincerely,

Brad Jordan

President

Bringing Families Together for the San Ramon Run for Education

Heritage families coming together for a great cause!

Every year we are gold sponsors and provide the signage for the San Ramon Run for Education event. Families from all over the Tri-Valley and beyond come together to raise money for the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation by running in the fun run.

The foundation supports over 33 local schools and  funding for various school programs and initiatives. Heritage Paper was proud to be a part of such a wonderful event. Kelsey Tatum, Digital Operations Manager knows how much participating means to community.

“We love helping with this run every year.  It is a great way for Heritage to give back to our community, and the Education Foundation does so much to help the schools.  Not to mention, our families love to participate in the events!”

The run for education included a 10k, 5k, mini run, and expo for all families in the San Ramon area.

Fall is Here and Supplier of the Year Award

img_1017Is it Fall already? We’ve had a very  productive Summer finishing up the install of our new Gopfert 7 unit press. It’s high definition (150 line screen) flexo process printing is on par with litho and with far better color control. This addition is ideal for high end corrugated packaging for wineries and the food and beverage industries and supports our decision to give you more agency quality for all our packaging. Our efforts have not gone overlooked and one long time customer in particular, has noticed. Every year, Heritage Paper receives a Supplier Report Card from Francis Ford Coppola Winery. We’ve been their supplier for many years and work very hard to exceed FFCW’s expectations through the process and development of new packaging.

I have worked in this industry for over 26 years and not many customers even give recognition to their suppliers, so receiving recognition from one who does is very impressive. We value all of our customers and especially appreciate the extra effort of recognition”–Chuck Roberts, Heritage General Manager

We first won the award in 2012, and again last year in 2015 and was accompanied with several etched bottles of Coppola’s Diamond Collection Claret 2010 Black Label. The 2015  award is a 3 liter bottle of Votre Sante Pinot Noir Vintage 2014 with an inscription on the bottom which reads “Francis Ford Coppola Winery 2015 Supplier of the Year Heritage paper.” We are so proud to be the recipient of such an amazing award and hope to keep making our customers happy through our improved printing processes.

If you haven’t seen our latest video on our Gopfert install, here’s a peek below. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for latest updates!

Monster Speaker Display is Making Summer Sizzle

MONSTERBLOGPOSTPICWe’ve been busy with new projects, including one that has been the center of attention the past few months. Monster Products, a longtime customer of ICON, has teamed up with Heritage to produce awesome new displays that will feature some of their existing products on.

One of the products to be featured on counter-top and floor displays is the Backfloat Speaker System. The water-friendly, Bluetooth-ready speaker, floats in a pool or water and has Bluetooth capabilities. It kicks out any water that may get into the float and allows users to make calls via Bluetooth at any time. Can we say “Hello, Summer?”

One of the fun things about building this particular display for Monster is the overall look and feel of them. The design team at Heritage and ICON are excited to finally be able to collaborate on designs that will uphold to the agency-quality work they are known for.

If you love hanging at the pool and listening to the newest music without worrying if your electronics will suffer, then stay tuned for these speakers to be available at big box stores like Staples soon.

Thank you Backfloat Speaker system, for making our designs support your pool-ready sleekness.
